Associate Director

About us

We are a happy lot hanging out in Mermaid House on Puddle Dock! The sun setting over the Thames is a lovely feature each day in our bubbly office.

Infrastructure Matters is a small but growing, dynamic consents and advocacy consultancy working at the front end of major infrastructure projects.

We are employee owned, so the future of the business is firmly in the hands of our employees. We choose only the most talented and creative people to come and work with us.

We are an equal opportunities employer and one that welcomes diversity. We encourage applications from all suitably qualified persons because with a wide range of views, expertise and a share in the decision-making of our company, we will continue to lead in the niche we dominate.

Our values are:

  • Create connections – building strong relationships with our clients, our stakeholders, and within our team.
  • Make a difference – doing things differently and delivering work with a meaningful impact.
  • Shape the future – we advocate for projects that will change lives and change the way our clients value consents advisory and stakeholder engagement, shaping their future approaches to projects.

If our unique business sounds like the sort of place you see yourself crafting a future, we are eager for your application and look forward to discussing how you can contribute to our rich milieu.

What we do

IM adds value to our clients by being the number one agency for understanding the intricacies of the Development Consent Order (DCO) process. Achieved through our work to date led by our Founder Dominic O’Donnell and now complemented by our MD, Frances Fernandes, who joins us after a decade with the Planning Inspectorate as Lead Examining Inspector assessing the largest and most complex DCOs in recent years.

IM works as trusted advisers with promoters involved in the DCO process. We find innovative solutions and help deliver the vital infrastructure projects that will shape our future. Our vision is to play a defining role in transformational projects that change the way we live, move around and connect with each other.

We are a nimble and highly collaborative team, always seeking to celebrate and promote each other’s work. This approach means we have a cohesive group who look out for one another and enjoy working together. It also ensures strong value adds for our clients, stakeholders and our own development.
